The Elemental Awesomeness of Extreme Spectacularism.. Legen (wait for it..) DARY! - My Harry Potter 7.2 Review

It was awesome.
We waited an hour for the gates to open with fellow fans. Our game plan, 'To look like complete idiots for a day and just run for it..". Batikan la ya! The excitement's just rushing in as one of the security guards appear at the bag checking area of the entrance. I look at the other opponents and there they are. One with a Starbucks coffee. One wearing a Gryffindor scarf which I wanted to rip off. Others just lurking by hoping to be as subtle as they can so that they may appear as a regular muggle when in reality, they're wizards as well. Wizards like us. I would use the Alohamora charm to open the gates followed by Imperio to the guards but it just wouldn't be fair. And where's the fun in that, right?

My Review

So, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It has the elemental awesomeness of extreme spectacularism! Of course as expected, some parts of the movie were twisted in comparison with the book but all in all, David Yates revealed the story with as much detail as possible. It would have been
impossible to completely copy the book.

What I missed:
1. Fred's death - it wasn't as climactic as I thought it would be. I thought that based from the interviews of the Phelps brothers being overly emotional about it that it would get a good exposure and all. Sadly, the scene was too short for me. I didn't even see George's reaction because Ron's reaction was far more dramatic.
2. King's Cross with Dumbledore and Harry - Details were shortened but the point is expressed. Non Harry Potter book fans would have a hard time understanding the story.
3. Snape's memory - it was lacking some of the more needed details to totally tell the story.

What I loved:
1. Molly Weasley and Bellatrix Lestrange's fight scene - AWESOME! (Seriously, how many times have I written this word?). The effects were good. Emotions are there. Molly kicked Bellatrix' butt!
2. Voldemort and The Avada Kedavra on Harry - A scene consisting only a minute or so but tension? Men! You'll feel your toes getting cold and you find yourself holding your breath as you wait for the Killing curse to be said.
3. Gringotts Bank - Wow! It was almost exactly how I imagined it would be.
4. Everything else!

As I leave my sit at the cinema, I couldn't help but feel sad (aside from the nausea caused by 3d). Sad but happy simultaneously. It really is goodbye to the movies. Nonetheless, I'd still have the books with me. After all, I'm my own director whenever I read the books.
