Goodbye to the Muggle World

Lately, 50 percent of my tweets is about the upcoming and last installment of the Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. For a girl who followed JK Rowling's writings for the past 10 years, it feels like the end of a good Christmas vacation. Non-fans would probably not understand. The books would last forever but it's the anticipation of the movie that I would miss the most.

What's so great about JK Rowling anyway?

She's my Barney. She lets me see things in my mind that makes it my own. Whenever I read the books, it's like I feel the gushing of the wind as I ride my broomstick on the way to the other side of the field to shoot the quaffle into one of the hoops. I feel the tension of the Gryffindor students as they listen intently to Professor Severus Snape's Potions class. I hear Voldemort's thoughts just like Harry does. It all feels real to me. That's Rowling's magic. When you read the book, everything about it will seem real when in reality, the only plausible magic we have is turning the TV on with a touch of a single button.

Anyway, it's not really goodbye. The journey of Harry, Ron and Hermione will live on with me and with other HP fans. We will continue the brandishing of our 9-inch elk wands with unicorn hair and declare spells all over the world because that's just how it works. When you write something as magical yet so real like Harry Potter, there are no ends. It's like the Phoenix and the flame, who came first? The answer is that a circle has no beginning and ending. it's a continuous cycle of adventure and fantasy.
