The Eiffel Tower(s) of Dagupan City

OF course, an 81-storey, 1063-feet, 324-meter tall tower (Eiffel Tower, Wikipedia) cannot be seen in Dagupan City. My dad actually mentioned that Dagupan's land is soft so a building that high would have been impossible to build (Ernie Go's know-it-alls). But we have the perfect sites just like that famous landmark in Paris which may not be the most aesthetically challenging to the sight but it will certainly be the most appetizing in taste and in ambiance.

1. Kaleskesan ed Dagupan - Now this isn't exactly a 5-star restaurant. The food consists only of one soup base (Pork or Beef stock) and a variety of beef / pig innards or the good 'ol beef / pig meat. The oldest price that I can remember started from 15 Php - 20 Php. I think today, its price increased to 30 - 35 Php. You get to enjoy that high-cholesterol meal with free coagulated blood balls (more like rectangles actually) by request, free soup refill and some spring onions with its official partner, a cup of rice. Here's the dish, I think I've had a good taste of Kaleskes located around Dagupan City but I think the best so far is the one located in Pogo Grande. No choice of meat or innards. Just a dish full of everything. That place also serves the best Lengua in town! Better than restaurants. Prices are pretty cheap from 25 - 65 Php. So if by any chance you plan on going, you have to be really early (7am will do) because by 9am, the food is gone! That's how good their food is.

2. Dagupan City Plaza - Seriously, have you seen this place at night? It's really breathtaking. I think I was too blinded by the rumors that this became the make-out spot for people (and I think I might have seen some of them) but with a little tweaking, this could be a good spot for family picnics, pictorials, hang outs. When I was in my early college years, I used to go there and just sit and watch people. I would just write all afternoon and the place would act like a cloak of tranquility. Might I suggest that the gov't put out a Wifi zone and a more strict reinforcement on the cleanliness of the place.

3. The De Venecia Extension Road - Whether it's for a joyride or a jog, it's the perfect place to be. I can still remember the first time I've been to this road and I can remember getting all excited from head to toe because it's really awesome to look at. You'd see the river from the bridge and there are some eat-ins as well. So come on, take that butt off your chair and have a go at De Venecia Extension Road.

Okay now, these are just opinions of the girl with a big forehead. There are other great places in Dagupan but since the lights are starting to flicker (a sign of impending brownout), i'll post this now and if I ever think of a new place, then I'll find time to create a new post. Goodbye 1 million invisible readers!
